Terms of Service of Alceos

Welcome to Alceos! Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully as they govern your use of the Alceos website and our edtech software services ("Service") which turns lessons into AI-generated flashcards.

1. Accepting the Terms

By using the Service provided by Alceos, incorporated in France ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. User Eligibility

To use Alceos, you must be able to lawfully make online payments in your jurisdiction.

3. Account Registration

You must register for an account to use Alceos and provide your name and email address.

4. Use of the Service

The Service is made available to you for lawful purposes only. You agree not to post illegal content or use the Service in a way that is prohibited by these Terms.

5. Subscription and Payment

Alceos operates on a subscription-based model. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe and auto-renew each month. You can cancel your subscription at any time; the Service will continue until the end of the current billing month, but there will be no billing for the following month. No refunds are offered for the used portion of the month as AI inference costs are incurred immediately.

6. Intellectual Property

You may provide your own documents to create flashcards. The generated flashcards are owned by Alceos but are licensed to you for your personal use.

7. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Our Privacy Policy, which covers the handling of personal data, can be found on our website.

8. "As Is" Service

We offer Alceos on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive for excellence, we cannot guarantee the service will be without issues, such as AI accuracy or availability.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by French law. Disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.

10. Changes to Terms and Service

We may update these Terms or the Service at any time. Changes will be posted on our website.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or end your use of Alceos if you violate these Terms, engage in illegal activity, or for other serious misconduct.
